Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of saving-chart.ca and the related budgeting tool (collectively, the "Service") operated by Savings Chart ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to create an account. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement.
2. Your account
- You provide an accurate email address and choose a password of at least 8 characters.
- You're responsible for all activity under your account, including keeping your password and email access secure.
- If you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission, contact us at [email protected].
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or other accounts.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or republish material from the Service except as expressly allowed.
- Upload content that is illegal, harassing, infringing, or harmful.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the Service without prior written permission.
4. Your content
The budget data you enter remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to store and display it back to you so the Service can function. We do not claim ownership of your data and will not use it for advertising, training models, or any purpose other than running the Service for you.
5. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but make no guarantee of uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, security incidents, or other reasons. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime.
6. No financial advice
The Service is a visualization tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Any insights, suggestions, or default categories are for general informational purposes. For decisions about your money, consult a licensed professional. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for any financial decisions you make.
7. Pricing and changes
The core Service is currently free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future. If we do, we'll give existing users clear advance notice. Free features available to you at the time you signed up will remain free unless we provide notice otherwise.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we believe are being used for fraud or abuse, or that have been inactive for an extended period.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Savings Chart, its operators, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) CAD $50.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Savings Chart from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of the Province of Quebec, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you additional rights in your country of residence.
